The Sutlej Film has become the centre of a fresh political controversy in Punjab after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Chief Spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh made allegations against the Badal family. According to information shared by AAP Punjab on its official X account, Kuldeep Singh claimed that the Sutlej Film faced an alleged attempt to be banned.

AAP Cites Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra’s Claim

Referring to claims made by Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra, Kuldeep Singh said the Sutlej Film portrays the alleged atrocities committed against Punjab’s youth during the Congress regime. He further claimed that Bibi Khalra alleged a letter requesting a ban on the film was sent to the Central Government by Shiromani Akali Dal leader Sukhbir Singh Badal.

According to Kuldeep Singh, preventing the Sutlej Film from reaching audiences would be unfortunate, as he described the film as an important portrayal of Punjab’s history.

Commenting on the issue, Kuldeep Singh alleged that the Badal family had acted against Sikh interests and questioned why any effort would be made to stop the Sutlej Film from being screened. He said the public should be allowed to watch the film and draw its own conclusions.

The AAP leader maintained that historical events should be presented openly and discussed without restrictions.

Political Reactions Continue

The allegations have added a new political dimension to the debate surrounding the Sutlej Film. At the time of publication, there has been no response from Sukhbir Singh Badal or the Shiromani Akali Dal regarding the specific allegations shared by AAP Punjab.
