The Haryana Government has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming Rakhigarhi Site Museum into a globally recognised destination for archaeology and cultural heritage. In a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini, officials assessed the progress and design of the world-class site museum and interpretation centre being developed at Rakhigarhi.

According to information shared by the Haryana Government’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, the project aims to preserve and showcase India’s ancient civilisation while promoting Rakhigarhi as a major heritage and tourism destination.

Chief Minister Reviews Progress of Rakhigarhi Site Museum

During the review meeting, Chief Minister Shri Nayab Singh Saini directed officials to ensure that the Rakhigarhi Site Museum is developed in accordance with international standards. He emphasised that the museum and interpretation centre should reflect the historical and cultural significance of one of the world’s most important archaeological sites.

The Chief Minister reviewed the project’s progress, design plans, and future roadmap to ensure timely development and high-quality infrastructure.

Vision to Create a Global Heritage Destination

Highlighting the state’s vision, the Chief Minister said the ambitious project should go beyond being an archaeological attraction.

“This ambitious project should be developed in line with international standards, so that Rakhigarhi emerges not just as an archaeological site but as a global center for India’s ancient civilization, cultural heritage, and knowledge traditions.”

The Rakhigarhi Site Museum is expected to offer visitors a comprehensive understanding of the Indus Valley Civilisation through modern exhibitions, interpretation facilities, and interactive learning experiences.

Boost to Tourism, Research and Cultural Preservation

The development of the Rakhigarhi Site Museum is expected to strengthen heritage tourism in Haryana while creating new opportunities for archaeological research, education, and cultural exchange. The interpretation centre will help visitors better understand the site’s historical significance through advanced display techniques and curated exhibits.
