Ahmedabad: The issue of Gujarat Police Deployment has come under political scrutiny after Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Chaitar Vasava shared a statement on social media questioning the state’s use of police personnel for the security of private companies.
In his remarks, Vasava alleged that the primary responsibility of the police is to maintain law and order and ensure the safety and security of citizens. However, he claimed that the current pattern of Gujarat Police Deployment reflects a shift away from public service toward providing security for corporate entities.
Chaitar Vasava Raises Concerns Over Police Resources
Referring to figures shared on social media, Vasava alleged that 1,617 police personnel were deployed for the security of power companies linked to the Adani Group. He further claimed that the Gujarat government earned ₹12.81 crore through this arrangement.
According to Vasava, the issue is not merely about security arrangements but about the broader question of how public resources are being utilized. He argued that Gujarat Police Deployment should primarily focus on protecting citizens and strengthening law enforcement rather than serving private corporate interests.
As Per AAP Gujarat :
गुजरात में कानून-व्यवस्था की परिभाषा ही बदल गई है। पुलिस का मुख्य काम कानून और व्यवस्था बनाए रखकर नागरिकों को सेवा, सुरक्षा और सलामती देना है। परंतु गुजरात की BJP सरकार और उनके 8 पास गृहमंत्री ने पुलिस को अडानी की बिजली कंपनियों का प्राइवेट सुरक्षा गार्ड बना दिया है।

BJP Government Comes Under Opposition Attack
The AAP leader criticized the BJP-led state government, alleging that public institutions are being used in a manner that benefits large corporations. He claimed that citizens expect the police force to concentrate on maintaining law and order, preventing crime and ensuring public safety.
The debate surrounding Gujarat Police Deployment has added a new dimension to the ongoing political confrontation between the ruling BJP and opposition parties in the state. Opposition leaders argue that government resources should remain dedicated to public welfare and security.
