Patiala : The Patiala Rainwater Drainage Project has officially been launched in Abchal Nagar, where a storm sewer system worth ₹45 lakh has been started to address long-standing waterlogging issues during the monsoon season. The initiative has been taken up in Ward No. 19 of Patiala Rural as part of ongoing infrastructure development efforts.
The Patiala Rainwater Drainage Project aims to strengthen the local drainage system and ensure smooth flow of rainwater through a newly laid pipeline network. Under this project, pipelines will be installed across five streets in Abchal Nagar to prevent water accumulation and reduce flooding in residential areas.
Focus on Solving Waterlogging Problems
Residents of Abchal Nagar have frequently faced difficulties during heavy rainfall due to stagnant water on roads and in lanes. The Patiala Rainwater Drainage Project has been designed to provide a permanent solution to this issue by improving the stormwater drainage system in the area.
