In a post on X, Kejriwal said the repeated increase in fuel prices is increasing the burden on households already affected by inflation. The remarks came after state-run oil marketing companies increased petrol and diesel prices for the fourth time in less than two weeks, pushing retail rates higher across the country. According to reports, the hike has added nearly ₹7.5 to ₹8 per litre recently, reinforcing the issue where Arvind Kejriwal criticises Centre over inflation and fuel pricing.

In a video message, the former Delhi Chief Minister said that while fuel price increases in several countries remain moderate, Indian consumers are facing a sharper rise. He linked the situation to broader inflationary pressure and again highlighted how Arvind Kejriwal criticises Centre over economic management.
“Currently, 1.4 billion people are suffering. They are struggling to manage household expenses. Inflation has skyrocketed,” he said.

Kejriwal also argued that importing cheaper oil and gas from Russia and Iran could help reduce inflation and ease pressure on citizens. He further referred to a public poll he conducted, claiming that 97% of respondents supported importing cheaper fuel to control rising costs.
