The Central Board of Secondary Education has officially released the detailed process for the CBSE 12th Re-evaluation 2026 facility following the declaration of Class 12 board results. Students who are dissatisfied with their marks can now apply online for scanned copies of their answer sheets, verification of marks, and re-evaluation of answers.

According to the official notification, the board will allow students to first access scanned copies of their evaluated answer books so they can personally review the marking process. If candidates notice any discrepancy, they can then proceed with verification or re-evaluation requests through the online portal.

CBSE 12th Re-evaluation 2026 Important Dates

Under the CBSE 12th Re-evaluation 2026 process, applications for obtaining scanned copies of answer books will begin on May 19, 2026, and continue till May 22, 2026. Students will need to pay a fee of Rs. 700 per subject to receive the scanned answer sheets.

For verification of marks and re-evaluation requests, the application window will remain open from May 26 to May 29, 2026.

The fee structure announced by the board is as follows:

  • Rs. 500 per answer book for verification
  • Rs. 100 per question for re-evaluation

CBSE 2026 Re-evaluation Process Explained

The Central Board of Secondary Education has clarified that the CBSE 12th Re-evaluation 2026 process will take place in multiple stages.

Stage 1

Students must first request scanned copies of the evaluated answer books for the desired subjects.

Stage 2

After reviewing the scanned copies, students can apply for:

  • Verification of issues observed
  • Re-evaluation of specific answers

The board has clearly stated that only candidates who apply for photocopies of answer books will become eligible for verification and re-evaluation.

Important Guidelines for Students

The Central Board of Secondary Education has also issued several important instructions regarding the CBSE 12th Re-evaluation 2026 process.

  • The complete process will be conducted online.
  • Students must submit applications and fees before the deadline.
  • Only one application for each stage will be accepted.
  • Candidates should decide carefully whether they want to apply for one or multiple subjects.
  • No second opportunity will be provided once the application is submitted.
  • Marks can increase or decrease after re-evaluation, even by one mark.

The board further stated that if there is any change in marks after verification or re-evaluation, students will have to surrender their original mark sheet and certificate. A revised certificate will then be issued.

Final Decision After Re-evaluation

According to the official document, the result declared after the CBSE 12th Re-evaluation 2026 process will be treated as final. The board has clarified that no appeal or further review request against the re-evaluation outcome will be entertained.
