Punjab Cabinet Minister Harpal Cheema has said that the state government is witnessing unprecedented rural transformation, with development works worth more than 70 years of grants completed in just the last four years under the Punjab rural development initiative.
He stated that several infrastructure projects are currently underway at a rapid pace, including village marriage halls and link roads, which are being constructed to improve connectivity and community facilities. The Punjab rural development initiative is focused on ensuring balanced development across all villages in the state.

Cheema shared that ₹65 lakh has been allocated for a senior secondary school, ₹22 lakh for a primary school, and ₹24 lakh has already been provided for the construction of a panchayat house. These investments form a key part of the Punjab rural development initiative, aimed at strengthening education and governance infrastructure at the grassroots level.

Additionally, nearly ₹1.50 crore has been spent on developing a modern playground to promote sports and youth engagement. Harpal Cheema emphasized that the Punjab rural development initiative is designed not only to build infrastructure but also to support youth development and healthy lifestyles.
He further added that the government is committed to accelerating rural progress through continuous investment in essential services.
