Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini on Friday said that the India–European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) has unlocked significant new trade opportunities for the state and urged Haryana’s entrepreneurs to leverage the agreement to its fullest potential. He also announced the formation of a Haryana–European Union Working Group to strengthen cooperation and facilitate smoother engagement between stakeholders. The Chief Minister was addressing members of the Haryana European Trade Association at a meeting held in New Delhi.
Highlighting the broader significance of the agreement, Nayab Saini said the growing economic and strategic partnership between India and the European Union goes beyond a conventional trade pact. He described it as a bridge of trust, collaboration and shared aspirations between two regions rooted in democratic values and progressive development. Calling it a historic milestone, he said the agreement would take bilateral relations to unprecedented heights.

The Chief Minister Nayab Saini noted that the European Union, comprising 27 nations, represents one of the world’s largest and most prosperous markets, known for its stringent quality benchmarks and strong purchasing power. With the FTA in place, he said, European markets are now more accessible to products from Haryana and across India. For the state’s industries, farmers and youth, the agreement opens up vast opportunities and must be strategically utilized.
Emphasis on Quality Standards
Nayab Saini underscored the need for maintaining high product quality to build global credibility and ensure long-term success in European markets. He added that the agreement is expected to boost demand in Europe for Indian expertise in sectors such as IT services, data science and supply chain management, potentially generating millions of high-skilled job opportunities.

For Haryana’s agricultural community, he termed the FTA a major boost, stating that fruits, vegetables and processed food products from the state will now have more direct access to key European markets.
Strengthening Investor Confidence
Reaffirming Haryana’s investor-friendly environment, the Chief Minister Nayab Saini said the state government is committed to ensuring transparency and reliability in its investment ecosystem. He highlighted reforms such as the simplification of the single-window clearance system, development of modern logistics parks and expressway networks, and labor law reforms aimed at enhancing ease of doing business.

Inviting global investors to explore opportunities in the state, Nayab Saini encouraged them to invest in Haryana and become partners in shared growth.
