Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami has laid the foundation stone for the second phase of the road widening project in the Sahaspur Assembly constituency, valued at ₹12.03 crore (₹1203.40 lakh). The initiative aims to improve regional connectivity, ease traffic congestion, and enhance infrastructure in the area.
Road Widening Project: Phase II
The second phase will cover the stretch from Meethiberry to Parwal via Chandni Chowk and Parwal to Vigyan Dham Jhajhra, widening and strengthening kilometers 1 to 10 of the existing roads. CM Pushkar Dhami highlighted the importance of strong road networks for development, saying,
“Better connectivity supports trade, boosts tourism, and ensures easier access to education and healthcare. This project will reduce traffic congestion and enable safer, faster travel for residents.”

In addition to road improvements, several infrastructure projects were announced to address local needs:
- Bhauwala: Tube well construction for improved drinking water supply
- Daroo Chowk to Keshavwala River: Drainage works to prevent waterlogging
- Arcadia Bardowala Park: Development of Mokshdham
- Asanpur to Cremation Ground: Protective embankments and access roads
- Umedpur & Parwal: Embankments along Asan River to protect farmland
- Ward 93 Bardowala: Safety embankment construction
- Paundha: Road repairs and erosion control near cremation ground
- These projects reflect the government’s focus on sustainable development and regional priorities.
Focus on Women and Inclusive Growth
At a public gathering, CM Pushkar Dhami stressed the role of women as the backbone of Uttarakhand’s hill economy. He highlighted the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, empowering women from self-help groups to produce goods that compete with large enterprises.
He also noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the national economy has strengthened, enabling Uttarakhand to achieve a budget exceeding ₹1 lakh crore, facilitating further development and welfare initiatives.
Preserving Culture and Identity : Pushkar Dhami
CM Pushkar Dhami reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the state’s cultural identity through measures such as the Uniform Civil Code, anti-cheating laws, and action against illegal encroachments.

The government plans to create employment for 10,000–12,000 youth during the current fiscal year. Local MLA Sahdev Singh Pundir expressed appreciation, noting that the policies benefit youth, women, and farmers, while promoting regional development and governance.
