Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday instructed officials to take strict action against any elements attempting to disturb peace during upcoming festivals such as Holi, Maha Shivratri, and Ramzan. He held a high-level law and order review meeting at Lok Bhawan, with senior administrative and police officers participating via video conferencing from all divisions, police zones, ranges, and districts.
The Chief Minister noted that Holi will be celebrated from March 2 to 4, with festivities across the state, including the Braj region, and emphasized that anyone attempting to disrupt celebrations should be dealt with firmly. He warned that miscreants must not infiltrate Shobha Yatras, and instructed that Holika Dahan should be performed only at traditional locations and never on public roads.

CM Yogi Orders Vigilance on Social Media to Ensure Peace During Festivals and Exams
CM Yogi also stressed vigilance against rumors on social media, directing authorities to prioritize peace, security, and public order, especially in light of board examinations, census activities, and the festivals of Maha Shivratri, Holi, and Ramzan.
Regarding the Kanwar Yatra, the Chief Minister asked police and administration to ensure the safety of all devotees and prevent accidents. He inquired about preparations from district magistrates of Varanasi, Meerut, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Barabanki, and instructed that NDRF and SDRF teams remain active 24/7 during Maha Shivratri to manage crowd control, traffic, parking, women’s safety, and emergencies. Adequate deployment of women police personnel in temple premises was also emphasized.

On education, CM Yogi ordered that 10th and 12th board exams starting February 18 be conducted in a copy-free environment, with strict action against any attempts to compromise exam integrity. He also directed enforcement of traffic management, a ban on DJs and loud music after 10 pm, and prevention of begging near religious sites.
For upcoming religious events, he instructed authorities to maintain dialogue with religious leaders during Ramzan and Eid celebrations on March 21, and ensure that no new traditions are introduced. Preparations for Ram Navami starting March 19 and the first phase of the census should also be completed on time with all necessary arrangements in place.
