Chandigarh: Fulfilling a key promise from the 2025–26 Budget, Haryana Chief MinisterHaryana CM Nayab Saini Inaugurates 17 New Day-Care Cancer Centres virtually inaugurated Day-Care Cancer Centres (DCCC) in 17 districts on Tuesday from the Civil Secretariat, raising the total number of operational centres in the state to 22. Five centres had already been launched previously, and this expansion now ensures decentralised cancer care across nearly all parts of Haryana.
Describing the initiative as a transformative step for public health, CM Nayab Saini said the centres aim to provide accessible and affordable cancer treatment closer to patients’ homes. Health and Family Welfare Minister Arti Singh Rao joined the inauguration via video link and praised the Health Department and medical staff for quickly operationalising the centres.

CM Nayab Saini highlighted the rising cancer burden in the state and noted that Haryana is strengthening prevention, screening, and treatment under the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD). Regular screenings for oral, breast, and cervical cancers are being conducted for individuals aged 30 and above.
The newly launched centres will provide chemotherapy, follow-up care, palliative and supportive services, and symptom management at district hospitals. Dedicated Cancer OPDs, Pain and Palliative Care OPDs, and structured post-treatment follow-up will be offered free of cost. These centres will operate under a ‘Hub and Spoke’ model, with PGIMS Rohtak, National Cancer Institute Jhajjar, Sarvodaya Hospital Faridabad, and Atal Cancer Care Centre Ambala Cantt serving as expert hubs.

CM Nayab Saini noted that district-level treatment could save patients up to ₹3.3 lakh on travel, accommodation, and other related expenses, while reducing the load on major hospitals. Social support measures include free Haryana Roadways travel for patients and one attendant, and ₹3,000 monthly financial aid for eligible Stage III and IV cancer patients under the SEWA scheme.
