Uttar Pradesh : Ahead of the start of the Uttar Pradesh Budget Session, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday conducted a ‘Janta Darshan’ in Lucknow, where he listened to public grievances and directed officials to take prompt action on complaints raised by citizens.
During the interaction, people queued up with written petitions detailing their concerns. The Chief Minister personally met each individual, reviewed their issues, and instructed concerned departments to initiate steps to resolve the problems at the earliest.
Earlier in the day, CM Adityanath also paid a courtesy visit to Governor Anindiben Patel at Lok Bhavan.
Tight Security as Budget Session Begins
The Janta Darshan was held just before the commencement of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly’s Budget Session, which begins today. Elaborate security and traffic arrangements have been put in place across Lucknow to ensure smooth proceedings. The session, scheduled to run from February 9 to February 20, marks the first legislative sitting of the year.

To maintain law and order, police personnel along with the Rapid Response Force (RRF) have been deployed in and around the Assembly premises.
NDA Gears Up, Targets Opposition
In preparation for the session, NDA legislators held a meeting on Sunday to discuss legislative strategy. Addressing the media afterward, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said the ruling alliance is fully prepared and confident of a productive session, adding that MLAs are enthusiastic and committed to constructive discussions.
Meanwhile, NDA MLA Danish Ansari took a swipe at the Opposition, accusing it of lacking a clear agenda. He said the Yogi government has strengthened law and order and improved the education system, fulfilling the expectations of the people. Ansari added that the Opposition is attempting to mislead the public without raising substantive issues.
Extended Debate Hours Planned
To encourage meaningful discussion in the House, the Budget Session will feature a special debate window from 5 pm to 8 pm daily, allowing members additional time to present their views beyond regular sitting hours. Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana said efforts are being made to ensure the House functions for at least 30 days this year, urging all parties—especially the Opposition—to prioritise debate over disruption.
