Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed district collectors in areas affected by recent hailstorms to conduct crop surveys and ensure the swift disbursement of relief funds to farmers. The year 2026 is being observed as the Farmer Welfare Year, with a focus on protecting farmers’ interests and doubling their income.
As part of this initiative, Agriculture Cabinet meetings will be held across the Malwa, Nimar, Chambal, and Vindhya regions. Farmers are being encouraged to diversify their income by adopting allied activities such as horticulture, dairy, and fisheries. The state recently hosted its first-ever State-level Flower Festival to promote flower production and improve both domestic and international marketing strategies. Measures are also being implemented to ensure effective stubble management and reduce stubble burning. Additionally, the state government is considering including mustard and other oilseeds under the Bhavantar Scheme, while also promoting urad cultivation in place of moong through increased farmer awareness and motivation.
Development and Infrastructure Initiatives
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav appreciated the successful organisation of the State-level MP Youth Games–2026, highlighting the inclusion of indigenous sports in such prestigious events. He announced that the bed capacity at Rewa Medical College has been increased by 750 beds, and similar expansions are planned for other medical colleges across the state.

Dr. Mohan Yadav also commended the facilities developed at Shri Pashupatinath Lok and the measures taken to preserve the statue there. At the Annadata Samman Ceremony in Malhargarh, Mandsaur, ₹200 crore was transferred to 1.17 lakh soybean farmers under the Bhavantar Scheme.
Union Budget and Development Goals
Referring to the recently presented Union Budget under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister stated that it represents a significant step toward achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat. He highlighted that the budget emphasizes Finance Commission recommendations over political considerations. Dr. Mohan Yadav directed ministers to inform citizens in their respective areas about the key features of the Union Budget.

CM Mohan Yadav: Tourism and Eco-Friendly Initiatives
Dr. Mohan Yadav praised the eco-sensitive Tent City model at the Rann Utsav in Kutch for generating employment and fostering innovative tourism. Drawing inspiration from safari experiences and rescue centres at Gir National Park, he urged similar initiatives to be implemented in Madhya Pradesh to boost tourism and local employment.
