AAP Delhi : A new controversy has emerged in the Capital as the BJP government announced that an EWS (Economically Weaker Section) certificate will now be mandatory for obtaining a ration card. AAP MLA Sanjeev took to X to strongly criticize the move, alleging that it would revive corrupt practices in the issuance of ration cards.
In his post, Sanjeev highlighted that the process of obtaining an EWS certificate is already plagued with corruption. By linking ration cards to this certificate, he warned that the system would open doors to more irregularities, putting citizens at the mercy of bureaucratic exploitation.

The MLA accused the BJP government of reintroducing a flawed system, claiming it would complicate access to essential welfare schemes for economically weaker families. He demanded that the government simplify the process for ration card issuance and ensure transparency to prevent misuse.
