Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurates Uttarayani Kauthik Fair, announces Parvatiya Vikas Bhawan, new infrastructure, and cultural initiatives in Khatima.

Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, lit a ceremonial candle to open the Uttarayani Kauthik Fair, which was organized by the Kumaon Cultural Upliftment Forum, Khatima, at the Seed Corporation campus.

Uttarayani Fair Opening and Development Projects Announced by Chief Minister Dhami

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister announced plans to build a “Parvatiya Vikas Bhawan” (Mountain Development Building) and instructed the District Magistrate to find suitable property for it. He also announced that the Uttarayani Fair will receive funding and be added to the official calendar. He also declared that a permanent stage would be built at the committee’s request.

Maintaining Identity and Tradition

Makar Sankranti, according to the Chief Minister, is a festival of both spiritual and scientific value. It is observed to commemorate the sun’s entry into Uttarayan. Since the Sun is revered in Indian tradition as the king of the planets, Makar Sankranti is also seen as the day when a king pays a visit to his subjects’ homes. According to him, Uttarayani is a celebration of our culture, religion, and way of life rather than just a holiday. The Sun is bringing a message of fresh vitality, renewed optimism, and fresh starts at this moment.

He was happy that the younger generation is getting back in touch with its heritage through occasions like the Uttarayani Kauthik. The idea that our cultural legacy is in good hands is strengthened when young people sing folk songs, moms and sisters dress traditionally, and children dance to traditional instruments.

He asserted that in a time of swift modernization, maintaining and fostering one’s identity has become crucial, and such gatherings are vital in that regard. India is reaching new heights of prosperity and re-establishing the pride of Sanatan culture around the world under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Driven by the motto “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” the state administration is putting in endless effort to establish Devbhoomi Uttarakhand as a development model.

Development in Khatima

According to the Chief Minister, Khatima is his home and his family, not just an assembly. From this point on, he started his career in public service.

He emphasized that the government of Khatima has strengthened the drinking water supply, healthcare, education, and basic infrastructure in a number of important ways. Among these are the building of a state-of-the-art national-level sports stadium, a new 100-bed hospital, a contemporary ITI and polytechnic institution, and an advanced bus terminal.

Projects including the Gadarpur and Khatima bypasses, a bridge at Nausar, and a vast road network have been created to increase connectivity. There are also proposals for a significant military memorial between Tanakpur and Khatima, according to the administration. In addition, an Eklavya Residential School is in operation in the tribal-dominated area, and MCom and MSc courses have been added at the Government College in Khatima. He stated with complete assurance that Khatima’s progress will never slow down.

State-Level Law Enforcement and Governance

He said the jobless rate dropped to a record 4.4% below the national average in just one year. The opposition, however, ignores these accomplishments and instead creates uncertainty and rumors.

Combating Encroachment and Illegal Activities

Devbhoomi’s culture, population, and law and order would not be compromised, the Chief Minister declared. To combat harmful ideas like “land jihad,” “love jihad,” and “spit jihad,” severe measures have been implemented. On the ground, prohibitions against rioting and conversion have been put into place and upheld. More than 250 unlawful madrasas have been sealed, more than 500 illegal structures have been dismantled, and more than 10,000 acres of government land have been cleared of encroachers, demonstrating that no illegal construction on even a single inch of Devbhoomi’s territory will be allowed. Under “Operation Kaalnemi,” fraudsters and imposters who disparage Sanatan Dharma have also been targeted.

Anti-corruption efforts and legislative reforms

He claimed that although the Uniform Civil Code has established the groundwork for a peaceful society, the copying mafia’s core has been destroyed by a severe anti-cheating statute. Thus, on the basis of merit alone, around 27,000 young people have been hired by the government. A zero-tolerance approach against corruption has resulted in the imprisonment of nearly 200 corrupt persons throughout the last four and a half years.

Growth of the Economy and Empowerment of Women

Uttarakhand’s economy has expanded 26 times since the state’s creation thanks to well-defined policy and intent. It has surpassed Rs 1 lakh crore in the state budget. Roads are now twice as long, ten government and private medical colleges are now open, and power generation has quadrupled. Over 42,000 rooftop solar plants were installed in 2025, helping the state meet its 2027 goal.

Through DBT, benefits are now being sent straight to beneficiaries’ accounts. Approximately 40,000 daughters of the state have received direct transfers totaling more than Rs 172 crore under the Nanda Gaura Scheme.

The Chief Minister emphasized that women in particular are the real guardians of Uttarakhand’s culture. Their ideals, diligence, and selflessness are the greatest assets of society. Women’s empowerment is therefore a government commitment rather than only a catchphrase.

Goals for the “Best State”

The government’s accomplishments, he concluded, are now shocking those who had merely made promises for decades. “My name is Devbhoomi. Our culture will be protected, development will occur here, and anti-national elements will eventually have to depart,” he declared.

The objective is to elevate Uttarakhand to the top of the nation. This is more than just a catchphrase; it’s a “option-less resolve,” and he was confident that the populace will keep helping the government accomplish it.
