Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini launches Viksit Bharat–G-RAM-G Act 2025, increasing rural employment to 125 days with ₹1.51 lakh crore allocation.
The Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) , (Viksit Bharat–G-RAM-G Act ) Act, 2025, according to Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, represents a fundamental overhaul of India’s rural employment policy, guaranteeing more guaranteed workdays, higher wages, transparent payments, and the creation of durable assets while ending the corruption and inefficiencies that afflicted the previous MGNREGA framework.
Speaking at a press conference today, the Chief Minister stated that the Viksit Bharat–G-RAM-G Act is intended to help honest workers who were deceived by earlier administrations. “This law guarantees transparent wage payments, real-time monitoring, and higher guaranteed employment,” he stated. Rural workers will no longer benefit dishonest contractors, officials, or politicians; instead, they will help create a truly developed India.
He claimed that an antiquated framework that no longer accurately represents the realities of India’s changed rural economy has been replaced by the new law, which was introduced under PM Narendra Modi’s direction. He claimed that the law directly affects the lives and means of subsistence of millions of rural laborers, farmers, and working families nationwide.
According to the Chief Minister, MGNREGA was designed in a different economic and social environment when it was first introduced about 20 years ago. It needed to be reformed when conditions changed, much like any public assistance programs. Its structural flaws, however, were not addressed by succeeding administrations.
He said that India’s rural economy has changed significantly during the last 20 years. In 2011–12, rural poverty was over 25 percent; today, it is less than 5 percent. Infrastructure development, Aadhaar coverage, digital connectivity, banking access, and Direct Benefit Transfer systems have all experienced previously unheard-of growth in the past ten years. It was not in the interest of workers or the country to continue with an antiquated and defective employment structure without reform, according to Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
Incomes nationwide rose as guaranteed employment was extended to 125 days.
The new law, according to the Chief Minister, has raised the employment guarantee from 100 to 125 days, greatly increasing the promised income for workers in rural areas. According to him, this would raise an unskilled rural worker’s yearly salary by more than Rs. 7,000 on average. Each worker will get at least Rs. 10,000 more a year in Haryana, which has the highest salary rates in the nation, he claimed.
A record allocation of Rs. 1.51 lakh crore guarantees financial support
The Chief Minister stated that this year’s record allocation of Rs. 1.51 lakh crore for the scheme was surpassed by the previous year’s allocation of Rs. 88,000 crore. He claimed that the Central Government alone has contributed more than Rs. 95,000 crore, and that it plans to expand spending even more in the upcoming years to improve job stability in rural areas.
