Punjab wins Gold Medal amongst all states in category of Swachh Pavilion (state) for excellence in display
Chandigarh, November 28: The Punjab stall secured the Gold Medal among all states in the Swachh Pavilion category for excellence in display at the 42nd India International Trade Fair 2023.
A Punjab government spokesperson disclosed today that the Ministry of Commerce & Industry of the Government of India organizes this premier trade fair annually in November at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. He said that it is rare distinction for State as Punjab has been awarded Gold Medal for the first time since 2000.
The Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC) were entrusted with organizing and coordinating with various departments, boards, corporations, and representing the state in the India International Trade Fair.
Exhibition space was allocated to entities such as the Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, Department of Industries, Department of Tourism & Cultural Affairs, PSIEC, GMADA, Markfed, Milkfed, PAU, Department of Science & Technology, Punjab Agro, PPCB, Pushpa Gujral Science City, as well as several prominent investors and industrialists.
The Department of Tourism & Cultural Affairs organized Punjab Day on the evening of November 18, 2023. The amphitheater was filled to its full capacity, and the food stall, “Sadda Punjab,” received an excellent response. The pavilion, set up by PSIEC as the nodal agency with contributions from various government departments, successfully showcased key initiatives in trade, industry, tourism, power, agriculture, science, and more.
An independent, high-powered jury appointed by ITPO visited all pavilions to assess and grade various states and ministries of the Government of India during the exhibition. The jury expressed admiration during their visit to the Punjab Pavilion, which witnessed a large footfall at the trade fair.
Meanwhile, the award was presented to the Administrator of Punjab Pavilion by the Chairman and Managing Director of ITPO. Haryana and Chhattisgarh received the Silver and Bronze Medals, respectively.
