Punjab govt provides ₹371.84 crore aid to 2.79 lakh people with disabilities, ensuring timely and transparent support, says Dr. Baljit Kaur.
The Punjab govt, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is steadfastly dedicated to the well-being of all societal segments, guaranteeing social fairness and group advancement. The government has been taking consistent, considerate, and successful steps to guarantee the safety, independence, and respectable living of people with disabilities in accordance with this promise. Dr. Baljit Kaur, Minister of Social Security, Women, and Child Development, made this statement.
Dr. Baljit Kaur provided information, stating that the Punjab government has so far disbursed ₹371.84 crore in financial aid for those with disabilities. She said that 2,79,544 people with disabilities received direct benefits under the program during the current fiscal year, providing thousands of families around the state with vital financial help.

The Cabinet Minister went on to say that one of the Mann Government’s major priorities is making sure that financial aid to people with disabilities is provided in a timely, transparent, and continuous manner. In order to accomplish this goal, ₹495 crore has already been allocated in the current fiscal year’s budget, guaranteeing that no qualified recipient will be denied aid.
Dr. Baljit Kaur explained that this financial aid program covers people with disabilities who have a minimum impairment of 50% or more and are unable to support themselves. She underlined that the government’s goal is to make sure aid reaches the intended recipients, enhancing their financial stability and empowering them to respectably satisfy their most basic needs.
Dr. Baljit Kaur reaffirmed the government’s commitment, saying that the Mann Government has no plans to restrict its assistance to just financial aid. Rather, it is committed to integrating people with disabilities into society by providing them with chances for independence, empowerment, and a life of dignity.
