Punjab Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian assures veterinary inspectors of swift action on pay, staffing, and service-regularisation demands.

To fulfill the long-standing requests of the state’s Veterinary Inspectors, Punjab Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, and Fisheries Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian stepped in today.

Khudian held thorough discussions and gave the Punjab State Veterinary Inspectors Association delegation, led by President Gurdeep Singh Bassi, the assurance that their justifiable demands will be promptly met during their meeting at the Punjab Civil Secretariat. The group has called for the fulfillment of the recommendations of the sixth pay commission, the creation of 87 new positions for veterinary inspectors at the Tehsil level, and the consideration of 18 months of regular service for the 400 veterinary inspectors hired in 2011. The group has chosen to cancel the planned Lambi rally following Khudian’s assurance.

Additionally, he gave the Director of Animal Husbandry instructions to expedite the demands’ follow-up. In order to work toward a resolution on the following fundamental issues, the Minister particularly promised to arrange an early meeting with Harpal Singh Cheema, the Finance Minister of Punjab.
