Punjab Vigilance Bureau arrests Sukhwinder Singh red-handed for accepting Rs. 1,500 bribe in Faridkot. Case filed under Prevention of Corruption Act; probe underway.

Sukhwinder Singh, a private employee of Patwari Pooja Yadav in the district of Faridkot, was caught red-handed by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) while collecting a bribe of Rs. 1500 as part of the agency’s continuing campaign against corruption in the state.

An official state VB spokesperson revealed this , stating that the aforementioned accused had been taken into custody following a complaint from a resident of Bhan Singh Colony in the Faridkot area.

He added that the complainant went to the VB and claimed that Sukhwinder Singh, the accused, had asked a bribe of Rs 2000 in order to carry out the plot’s mutation. The entire conversation demanding a bribe was recorded by the complainant.

The VB team set up a trap following an initial investigation into his complaint, the spokesperson continued, and Sukhwinder Singh was detained while taking bribe money from the complainant in front of two official witnesses. In this regard, a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been filed at the VB police station in Ferozepur against the accused, and an investigation is currently underway.
