Punjab Police arrest 151 drug smugglers in 366 raids under CM Mann’s Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign, seizing heroin, drugs, and cash.

Following the filing of 122 first information reports (FIRs) throughout the state, Punjab Police conducted raids at 366 locations on Sunday, resulting in the arrest of 151 drug smugglers as part of the 295th day of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign against drugs. This brings the total number of drug smugglers caught in 295 days to 41,207.

3.1 kg of heroin, 2454 intoxicant tablets and capsules, and Rs 18,560 in drug money were found in the custody of drug smugglers who were arrested as a result of the operations.

Under the direction of 70 gazetted officers, more than 120 police teams with more than 1000 officers have carried out 366 raids around the state. Over the course of the daylong investigation, police teams have also inspected up to 364 questionable individuals.

In order to eradicate narcotics from the state, the state government has implemented a three-pronged policy called Enforcement, Deaddiction, and Prevention (EDP). As part of “De-addiction,” the Punjab Police has persuaded nine individuals to receive de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment today.
