Punjab CM Mann empowers youth with 505 minibus permits under Rozgar Kranti, boosting employment, public transport, and rural roads.

In a significant move to shatter the monopoly of large transportation companies, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann gave 505 minibus permits to the state’s unemployed youth on Friday as part of the “Rozgar Kranti Scheme.”

“This is a historic milestone as the state government has started ‘Rozgar Kranti’ with this self-employment initiative,” the chief minister stated at a celebration organized at MGSIPA in Sector-26 here. Since March 2022, the Transport Department has authorized 1,165 small stage carriage permits. As of right now, 505 children are receiving permits under the “Small Stage Carriage Permit Scheme.” In order to empower these young people from common homes, these permits were distributed in a free and equitable manner, he said.

“This move will boost the entire economy, including Petrol Pump Operators, Bus Operators, and other allied areas,” the Chief Minister remarked, congratulating the young people who received the permits. “The state government has started school buses for girl students after students had to deal with a lack of buses in the past,” he said. According to Mann, the state government has allocated 43,000 km of highways, including 19,000 km of rural roads, for recarpetting, subject to five years of road maintenance.

According to the Chief Minister, 58,000 young people were hired by the government without any corruption, nepotism, or referrals. He added that during earlier regimes, only blue-eyed individuals who were close to the ruling class were granted such bus licenses.He claimed that by granting permits to their loved ones and monopolizing the industry, the previous rulers had actually turned it into a family affair. “Now that an honest government dedicated to everyone’s well-being is in charge of affairs, this trend has been broken,” he remarked.

“Recent local bodies elections were conducted under a free and fair manner and some of the candidates secured their seats by a margin of two or three votes,” CM said in reference to the recent local body polls. The opposition was unnecessarily raising a fuss about the matter because the people had rejected them. State residents, particularly those living in rural areas, have voted for progress and projects rather than empty rhetoric.

According to the Chief Minister, Punjab is a blessed land by God’s gift, but the previous rulers have done everything in their power to pillage its resources for their personal gain. He claimed that because Badals had centralized the whole transportation industry, the system had crumbled severely and was dominated by a select few. In order to improve public transportation, Mann unveiled a new fleet of 1,311 buses and stated that private companies would not be permitted to take advantage of the average person.

According to the Chief Minister, the bus stops in Bathinda, Ludhiana, Sangrur, Jalandhar, and Patiala are being renovated with state-of-the-art amenities. “We’ll launch a new app that allows users to purchase bus tickets using their phones. The average man will greatly profit from the state government’s decision to launch a shuttle bus service in Punjab, he continued.

According to the Chief Minister, the State Cabinet has changed the regulations to provide new players permission and other facilities so that young people may find work and to enhance public transportation. “In order to boost the economy, we are in the process of transforming people’s mindsets from job seekers to job givers. “It is imperative that we utilize the immense potential of Punjab’s youth,” he stated.

According to CM Mann, 17 Toll Plazas were closed, saving Punjabis ₹64 lakh every day. The state government forbade toll plaza companies from extending their agreements in order to take advantage of the populace. He noted that Partap Singh Bajwa had established a maximum toll plaza while serving as the PWD Minister.

According to the Chief Minister, the Union Government now wants to end MNREGA with new regulations and a greater financial burden on the State Government. To the dismay of the general public, conditions were changed with the intention of ending the program. In order to fully address this matter, the state government plans to call a special state Vidhan sabha session in January,” he continued.

CM Mann criticized the Centre for Agniveer Scheme, claiming that it is completely unconstitutional and goes against the Indian army’s core mission. “As Punjab has produced many brave hearts who made supreme sacrifices to protect the country, our ancestors had sacrificed for this country,” he said.

Mann stated that in his capacity as Punjab’s guardian, he will constantly defend the province’s rights and fiercely fight the center’s cynical actions.
