Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda updates on Ambala schools: U-DISE data collected, Rs. 194.72 lakh approved for new school buildings.
According to Haryana Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, the Education Department gathered school-specific information from every school on the Unified District Information System for Education (U-DISE) MoE portal in 2024–2025. The U-DISE data collection process for 2024–2025 is presently underway.
The Minister was responding to a query posed by Mulana, MLA Smt. Pooja, during the Haryana Vidhan Sabha’s Winter Session, which got underway today.
According to him, 257 of the 762 government schools in the Ambala district have minor infrastructure flaws and defects. Accordingly, information about government primary, middle, high, and senior secondary schools with inadequate infrastructure has been collated.
The Minister went on to say that seven government schools in the Ambala area need new construction. The specifics are as follows:
400 square yards of land are available for Government Primary School, Chhabiana (Ambala Cantt) and Government High School, Chhabiana (Ambala Cantt), and Rs. 55.06 lakh has already been approved for the construction of new structures.

700 square yards of land are available for the Government Primary School and Government High School in Sabzi Mandi (Ambala Cantt), and Rs. 76.66 lakh has already been approved for the construction of new structures.
The relevant Gram Panchayat has granted land for the construction of a new school building at Government Primary School, Mohri, which has been upgraded to a Government Middle School. For this purpose, an estimate of Rs. 33.00 lakh has been submitted and will soon be approved.
He added that only 200 square yards of land are available for the Government Middle School in Subhash Nagar (Ambala Cantt) and that the school’s existing building has been condemned. Currently, this school operates out of Government Middle School in Deha Basti.
The Minister added that the department has received an estimate of Rs. 29.00 lakh for the completion of the Government Middle School, Jhiriwala’s unfinished structure, and approval will be granted soon.
