Punjab Police raid 278 locations, arrest 103 drug smugglers, seize heroin, opium, and Rs 2.6 lakh in drugs. CM Mann’s campaign continues.

In keeping with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign to end the drug problem in the state for the Punjab Police raid 278 locations, arrest 103 drug smugglers, seize heroin, opium, and Rs 2.6 lakh in drugs. CM Mann’s campaign continues. Punjab Police raided 278 locations on Wednesday, arresting 103 drug smugglers after registering 83 first information reports (FIRs) throughout the state. As a result, 40,591 narcotics smugglers have been apprehended in 291 days.

5.03 kilogram of heroin, 2.7 kg of opium, 1465 intoxicant tablets and capsules, and Rs 2.6 lakhs in drug money were found in the custody of apprehended drug smugglers as a result of the raids.

278 raids have been carried out around the state by more than 100 police teams, which consist of more than 800 police officers, overseen by 62 gazetted officers. Throughout the course of the daylong operation, police teams have also examined up to 299 suspected individuals.

In an effort to eradicate narcotics from the state, the state government has implemented a three-pronged policy called Enforcement, Deaddiction, and Prevention (EDP). Today, 42 people were persuaded to undertake de-addiction and rehabilitation therapy by the Punjab Police as part of “De-addiction.”
