Border 2: The first trailer for the eagerly anticipated follow-up to J.P. Dutta’s historic war movie Border has been released by the film’s creators, bringing back memories of one of Hindi cinema’s most renowned patriotic dramas. The preview, which was unveiled on Tuesday afternoon at a prominent event in Mumbai, was well received by viewers who praised its scope, action scenes, and sentimental undertone. The movie presents Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty as the new generation of warriors with Sunny Deol, who makes a comeback to the franchise.

With powerful images from the 1971 Indo-Pak War and Sunny Deol’s strong voice against Pakistan’s army, the teaser establishes the mood. Varun, Diljit, and Ahan are presented to the audience as troops stationed at various boundaries, standing resolutely in defense of the country. Intense fighting sequences are intercut with snippets of the men in uniform’s private lives in the montage that follows.

In one of the most notable scenes, Sunny Deol’s character exhorts his soldiers to shout catchphrases so forceful they may be heard all the way to Lahore. Dramatic shots of airstrikes, land battle, and, most significantly, naval warfare—a rather uncommon sight in popular Hindi movies—then intensify the teaser. The title Border 2 flashes on the screen as the teaser comes to a close, accompanied by the well-known strains of Hindustan Meri Jaan from the first movie.

On December 16, the 44th Vijay Diwas, which commemorates India’s victory in the 1971 war, the teaser was released. By revealing individual character posters of Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty before the release, the filmmakers gradually increased anticipation.
