Guidelines for Local Authorities In a significant step towards decentralization and strengthening relief initiatives, CM Adityanath has directed all panchayats and local authorities to organize bonfires in public spaces. This directive seeks to deliver prompt assistance to mitigate the impact of declining temperatures, particularly in regions where night shelters are unavailable or for individuals remaining outdoors. The Chief Minister emphasized the magnitude of the operation in his home district, indicating that in Gorakhpur alone, 14 ‘rain basera’ are being operated by the Nagar Nigam, collectively able to accommodate between 700 and 1,000 vulnerable individuals. He assured the public that adequate funds have been allocated to each district for the procurement and distribution of blankets and woolen garments, reaffirming the government’s commitment to safeguarding every citizen from the weather.

Emphasize Public Engagement Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister conducted his customary ‘Janta Darshan’ at the Gorakhnath Temple premises in Gorakhpur.
