Alia Bhatt made her return to the Red Sea International Film Festival this year, but she remarked that the experience felt significantly different. The actress disclosed that her daughter Raha is now sufficiently mature to observe her absence—and to inquire about it. “Now Raha maintains her own relationship with the paparazzi and is sufficiently mature to inquire about my whereabouts and return time,” Alia stated, further noting that her young daughter has already established her own rapport with the media.

Alia articulated that motherhood has reinforced her conviction in authenticity, a trait she stated influences most of her current creative choices. According to her, audiences respond strongly to authenticity — even if reactions are not consistently uniform.

Discussing her expanding international presence at events such as Cannes and the Met Gala, Alia humorously remarked that the grandeur typically concluded in the same manner — “in my pajamas eating pizza.” She recognized that although these high-pressure appearances may appear seamless from an external perspective, they are accompanied by their own inherent disorder.

Reflecting on her early years, the actress stated that she had been quite disorganized during her twenties. “I remain enthusiastic and energetic, but my approach has become more reserved,” she stated. Over time, she remarked, achievements and setbacks inevitably lead to increased caution.

When I was a youthful individual…I am still youthful, but during my twenties, I was quite scattered, attempting to pursue numerous endeavors simultaneously, she stated. She recollected entering rooms without hesitation at the age of 18, guided by instinct and devoid of preconceived notions.

Today, however, her decisions are driven by deliberate intent. “I believe that with success, failure, and increased knowledge, one may occasionally become somewhat more cautious,” Alia acknowledged. Nevertheless, she underscored her intention to maintain her curiosity “regardless of what the future may hold.”

When asked whether representing India on international platforms generated pressure, Alia stated that it felt more akin to pride than a sense of responsibility. When a Pakistani admirer inquired whether she would visit their country in the future, the actress diplomatically avoided the subject, stating that she would travel wherever her professional commitments would lead her.

Addressing nepotism, she reaffirmed a belief she has previously expressed: “When the audience perceives someone contributing meaningfully, everything else is overlooked.”
