CM reviews Special Intensive Revision in Moradabad, urging accurate voter lists, door-to-door verification, and removal of ineligible entries ahead of elections.

Moradabad: During a review session in Moradabad, the Chief Minister instructed public representatives and officials to guarantee the precise and comprehensive completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. He emphasized that no lapses would be tolerated in maintaining the accuracy of the voter lists and directed party workers to carry out door-to-door outreach to verify legitimate voters and eliminate incorrect entries.

District in-charges and party leaders provided updates on development initiatives and the progress of SIR. The Chief Minister emphasized that SIR is a vital public process and urged teams to provide support to both BLO-1 and BLO-2. He directed representatives to verify that the names of deceased, relocated, and fraudulent voters—especially those listed in older records such as 2003—are removed promptly. He also underscored the importance of preventing the inclusion of any ineligible individuals as voters.

The Chief Minister emphasized that, with the panchayat elections scheduled for the coming year followed by the Assembly elections, the organization’s foundation must be maintained robustly. Teams were directed to notify citizens regarding existing central and state initiatives during voter-list outreach activities.

Meanwhile, provisions were being made to present the Chief Minister with the under-construction War Memorial in the city, including preparations such as a red carpet. However, owing to unspecified circumstances, the visit was not conducted, resulting in the preparations remaining unused.

In Lucknow, the progress of SIR has been impeded by delays in the submission of forms by VIP households. BLOs document recurrent visits, entry limitations, and hesitance among retired officers. Although 94% digitization has been achieved, only 34 Assembly constituencies have finalized their work, necessitating increased oversight through seven control centers monitoring 65 sectors throughout the city.

As many as 30 million names could be removed from the voter registry.

Initial SIR reports suggest that more than 20% of electors across the state may be classified as absent, relocated, or deceased. Sources indicate that deletions could amount to approximately 25–30% in districts such as Lucknow and Ghaziabad. Three districts—Auraiya, Azamgarh, and Etah—have already achieved 100% SIR verification.
