CM Yogi Adityanath urges citizens to verify identities as UP police take strict action against Rohingya & Bangladeshi infiltrators.

As the state takes severe action against Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators who are allegedly living in Uttar Pradesh illegally, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has encouraged citizens to confirm the identification of individuals before hiring them for home or business labor.

In a post on X, the Chief Minister reaffirmed that the state’s top priority are security, social peace, and strong law and order, adding that resolute action against unlawful infiltrators has already started. He urged everyone to be on guard and make sure that identity checks are done before hiring somebody.

Yogi Adityanath emphasized that everyone has a shared obligation to keep the state safe, saying that “security is the foundation of prosperity.” In order to safeguard Uttar Pradesh’s social equilibrium and general security framework, he urged citizens to cooperate with authorities and remain vigilant.

According to officials on Sunday, the Varanasi Police Commissionerate has started a week-long special verification campaign aimed at Bangladeshis, Rohingyas, and other illegal immigrants residing in the district. According to Gaurav Banswal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Kashi Zone, teams have been sent out around Varanasi to find people living in temporary settlements or working as street vendors without proper documentation. The effort, which started on Saturday, is to track down those who are staying in violation of the law and take appropriate measures.

Police teams are inspecting roadside sellers and hutment clusters as part of the seven-day verification exercise. Those who are discovered to be living unlawfully will be subject to severe and efficient legal action in accordance with the regulations, Banswal stated after verification.

To carry out thorough inspections within their respective domains, each station house officer in the district has assembled special squads. A special verification operation was conducted in Koirajpur on Saturday under the direction of Additional DCP Gomti Zone Vaibhav Bangar. Teams verified the names, backgrounds, and documentation of hutment occupants, hawkers, and other suspected individuals. According to officials, each person’s full personal information and photos were documented on the appropriate forms.

The drive has been conducted with increased vigilance by teams from the Baragaon police station and other Gomti Zone units. The Varanasi Police Commissionerate is conducting a systematic special verification effort in every police station area.
