IndiGo cancels over 70 flights due to crew shortages and tech issues. Singer Rahul Vaidya shares his costly travel chaos on Instagram.

Officials blamed the cancellations on a lack of crew after the new Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) went into effect on November 1. On Wednesday, IndiGo canceled at least 70 flights from Bengaluru and Mumbai, citing operational requirements, airport congestion, and technological issues. Other flights’ operations were also disrupted. The issue affected singer Rahul Vaidya, who shared his experience on Instagram Stories.

“One of the worst days to fly!” he captioned a selfie he posted of himself within the airport grounds, looking exhausted. And we still don’t know how to get to Kolkata, where we have a gig tonight!

He posted an additional image of himself clutching many Air India tickets. “These boarding cards are worth ₹4.2 lakhs and it is just till Bombay,” he captioned the photo. Kolkata and Mumbai will now be distinct. This is the most costly domestic trip I have ever taken.

Concerning the IndiGo flight delays

Numerous flights were canceled as a result of the interruption, and thousands of travelers complained about the confusion, delays, and cancellations at airports brought on by technical issues with check-in systems and other operational issues.

“We acknowledge that IndiGo’s operations have been significantly disrupted across the network for the past two days, and we sincerely apologise to our customers for the inconvenience caused,” an IndiGo representative said in a statement released by the airline until 6:10 p.m.

Following an hour-long breakdown in check-in systems worldwide on Tuesday night, airlines utilizing the Amadeus software also experienced flight delays, including Air India, Akasa Air, and SpiceJet.
