Lucknow Master Plan 2031 now includes the 57 km Green Corridor, removing construction limits and opening major opportunities for high-rise and commercial projects.

The official inclusion of the 57-kilometer Green Corridor, which runs from IIM Road to Kisan Path, in the Lucknow Master Plan 2031 represents a major advancement for the city’s real estate and urban infrastructure. This official approval has made it possible to build skyscrapers, apartment buildings, and business complexes along the corridor.

Termination of Construction Limitations

Only the “proposed old embankment” along the banks of the Gomti River was previously included in the Lucknow Master Plan 2031. As a result, building was prohibited within 200 meters of the embankment. Furthermore, development plans for homes, businesses, and other structures could not be approved since the riverbank was not clearly defined in many places.

The Gomti River’s official alignment or border line is now the Green Corridor, according to the recent revision. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) can now approve maps for new projects, including high-rise structures, as this clarity removes earlier obstacles.

The Procedure for Amendments

By October 18, the state government had requested comments and objections to the Master Plan 2031 amendment. There were no objections filed by the due date.

The revision was therefore formalized in an order issued by P. Guruprasad, Principal Secretary for Housing and Urban Planning. The alteration was authorized by an order issued by Governor Anandi Ben Patel, who was acting in accordance with subsection (2) of Section 13 of the Uttar Pradesh Town Planning and Development Act, 1973.
