Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann urged Japanese companies to invest in Punjab, highlighting growth opportunities in manufacturing, technology, mobility, and energy.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann urged Japanese business magnates to invest in Punjab in order to further boost their operations, showcasing the state as the ideal place for investment.
The Chief Minister met with representatives from JBIC, Aisan Industry, Yamaha, Honda Motor, the Director General of JICA South Asia Department, Toray Industries, the Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Fujitsu Ltd., and other organizations on the first day of his visit to Japan. During the deliberations, Bhagwant Singh Mann batted for strategic tie up with Japan in key sectors of advanced manufacturing, mobility, electronics, food processing, renewable energy, and global services. He invited the Japanese companies to explore the new possibilities emerging in the state as the future of Punjab is being shaped around these sectors.
At the 6th Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit, which will take place at the ISB Mohali campus from March 13–15, 2026, the Chief Minister urged investors to join the province. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, the summit would highlight Punjab’s achievements, unite major industry participants, and offer fresh chances for cooperation and partnership. He reaffirmed that trust, quality, and long-term dedication are values that Punjab and Japan share, and he said that the state government is totally committed to fostering this connection even further.

The Chief Minister expressed his vision, saying that the state administration is dedicated to establishing strong cultural and economic linkages in order to create a future of shared prosperity. He claimed that Punjab is a region renowned for bravery, tenacity, diligence, entrepreneurship, inventiveness, and a strong sense of community. He added that the state has always been crucial to India’s progress, particularly in helping the nation become self-sufficient in food production. Punjab is now advancing with a revitalized goal to become a premier hub for contemporary industry, technology, and international cooperation, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The Chief Minister issued a cordial invitation to Japanese businesses to participate in Punjab’s next stage of economic development, arguing for the state’s solid and expanding connections with Japanese industry. According to him, the state may benefit greatly from Punjab and Japan’s shared characteristics of discipline, trust, and long-term cooperation. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Japanese companies in Punjab have already demonstrated strong success in the state adding that several well-known companies of Japan have placed their trust in Punjab.
Meanwhile, buoyed over the red carpet extended by the Chief Minister, the Japanese companies evinced keen interest in investing in the state. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, these investments will boost the state’s economic growth in addition to giving young people job possibilities. He also assured fulsome support and cooperation to the Japanese investors by the state government on all the fronts adding that it is the need of the hour to give further impetus to industrial development in the state.
