Digambar Jain Temple in Lucknow to get Rs 1 crore under UP CM Tourism Scheme for infrastructure, heritage preservation, and improved visitor experience.

The Digambar Jain Temple in Lucknow’s Indranagar neighborhood will receive Rs 1 crore in funding from the Uttar Pradesh government. While special infrastructure development would be carried out around the Digambar Jain Temple, officials stated it was part of an effort to strengthen “Jain Heritage” in the state capital.

An official stated, “The project has been cleared under the Chief Minister’s Tourism Development Scheme,” adding that the goal is to give thousands of devotees who visit these Jain religious places an experience.

According to officials, the Indira Nagar temple has a handwritten Jain book that is approximately 800 years old, while the Jain temple in the Ashiyana neighborhood of Lucknow has an idol of Lord Mahavir that is almost 1,000 years old.

Wider roads, better lighting, drinking water facilities, good sanitation, clear signage, seating places, parking arrangements, and a dedicated information kiosk would all be included in the project’s redevelopment of the area around the temple.

The most recent proposal, according to officials, is consistent with the government’s initiatives to expand destinations within the Jain tourism circuit. According to an official, the goal is to make sure that the project also promotes small businesses in the vicinity of the temple, supports local jobs, and makes it a major destination for religious tourists.
