Punjab government completes flood relief in 1,012 villages, providing record compensation to households, farmers, and livestock under Mission Chardi Kala.

Punjab government has successfully finished distributing flood relief in 1,012 villages throughout the state. Every qualified family was promptly compensated by the state government for losses to their homes, crops, and livestock. Punjab has become the first state in the nation to provide the maximum compensation to flood-affected households in record time, according to a spokeswoman quoted in the statement. Financial aid of crores was provided under the Mission Chardi Kala initiative, guaranteeing that aid effectively reached every household.

Financial assistance for damaged homes was raised by the government from Rs. 6,500 to Rs. 40,000 per home. Through the innovative program “Jisda Khet, Usdi Ret,” Punjab granted its farmers the first-ever authority to remove sand from their own fields, allowing them to repair their land and get ready for the upcoming planting season.

Additionally, Punjab guaranteed the largest crop compensation in the country, giving impacted farmers Rs. 20,000 per acre. Compensation was established at Rs. 37,500 each milch animal, Rs. 32,000 per non-milch animal, Rs. 20,000 per calf, and Rs. 100 per chicken bird to help people recover their livelihoods. This support was vital for all affected households.

Additionally, 81 flood-affected farmers from 11 villages in the Dirba seat received permission letters totaling Rs. 22.71 lakh from Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema. In a same vein, Aman Arora, the AAP State President and Cabinet Minister, gave Rs. 17.47 lakh to 82 impacted households from 11 Sunam villages.

MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal gave Rs. 2.09 crore to 594 families in various villages in Ajnala, and Kulwant Singh Pandori, the chairman of the Special Privileges Committee, gave Rs. 5.49 lakh to 27 recipients in the Mehal Kalan constituency. This brings the total amount of aid in the region to Rs. 9.82 lakh for 41 families.

In the Ghanaur constituency, 2,113 recipients from 11 flood-affected villages received permission letters totaling Rs. 5.15 crore from PRTC Chairman Ranjodh Singh Hadana and MLA Gurlal Ghanaur, covering 3,478 acres of damaged crops.

MLA Labh Singh Ugoke gave flood-affected farmers from 16 villages in the Bhadaur constituency Rs. 32 lakh. The impacted individuals thanked the Punjabi government for helping them during their trying times.

Similar relief efforts were held in Nawanshahr, where SDM Anamjyot Kaur and AAP leader Lalit Mohan Pathak gave checks to impacted families. According to the press release, MLA Santosh Kataria and SDM Kritika Goyal gave flood victims compensation in Balachaur.
