AAP Punjab dismisses Moga Mayor Baljit Singh Channi over evidence linking him to drug traffickers; CM Bhagwant Mann backs zero-tolerance anti-drug policy.

Following specific evidence of his connections to drug traffickers, the (Aam Aadmi Party) AAP Punjab has taken severe action against Moga Mayor Baljit Singh Channi, dismissing him from the party and removing him from his position with immediate effect.

AAP State General Secretary Harchand Singh Barsat issued the official suspension order, adding that the party has a zero-tolerance attitude towards narcotics, corruption, and other acts that hurt the interest of Punjab and its youth. According to him, the party cannot permit anyone engaged in unethical or illegal conduct to continue holding public office.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has made it plain that no one, regardless of rank, will be spared if they are discovered to be involved in drug networks or jeopardizing the war on drugs, according to Barsat. The party stressed the unwavering nature of its anti-drug campaign and its goal of breaking the link between traffickers and their political backers.
