Three days after the terrible news of Dharmendra’s passing shocked the country, Hema Malini wrote a very intimate ode to her late husband. She reflected on their time together and referred to him as her confidant, anchor, and ever-present source of comfort in a heartfelt social media post.

Hema shared a carousel of pictures of herself and Dharmendra, writing, “Dharam ji❤️ To me, he was a lot of things. Loved husband, devoted father to our two daughters, Esha and Ahaana, friend, philosopher, mentor, poet, and my “go to” person in any situation—he was everything to me! has experienced both good and bad periods throughout its history. His easygoing demeanor won over all of my family members, and he consistently showed them interest and affection.”

The last voyage of Dharmendra
At the age of 89, Dharmendra, one of the most adored characters in Hindi film, died on November 24. His final ceremonies were held at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, where friends, coworkers, and industry supporters gathered to say goodbye.
Deepika Padukone, Govinda, Ranveer Singh, and Shah Rukh Khan were among the first to arrive. Sanjay Dutt, Anil Sharma, Rajkumar Santoshi, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Saira Banu, Abhishek Bachchan, and numerous more well-known figures also paid their tributes to the Deol family.
The seasoned actor’s last weeks
The renowned celebrity had been struggling with poor health for a while. After his condition deteriorated, he was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on November 10. His health did not improve, and he died on November 24 despite being released two days later so his family could continue providing care at home.

Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta and Ajeita from his first marriage, and Esha and Ahana Deol from his second, along with his first wife Prakash Kaur and second wife Hema Malini, are Dharmendra’s surviving family members.
