Ensure planned development of cities along with transparent citizen services: Hardeep Singh Mundian
SAS Nagar (Mohali)/Chandigarh, October 9 : Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian said that the works of the people should be ensured promptly without any hassles and delays adding that world class infrastructure should be built in a planned manner. During the first review meeting, Mr. Mundia, while giving instructions to all the officials, said that the top priority of the State government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is providing better corruption free citizen services free to the people of the state and this commitment should be strictly guarded.
Secretary Housing and Urban Development Rahul Tewari apprised the Cabinet Minister Mr. Mundia that the department has collected Rs 3000 Cr revenue through the transparent auction of properties and the target is to earn Rs 1500 Cr more in the coming time. The Housing and Urban Development Minister said that it should be implemented during the festive season and people also get their dream house. He further said that the department should conduct an e-auction of properties through the Rail-Tel portal in a transparent manner so that maximum revenue can be collected for the government.
Mr. Mundia said that the pendency of people’s work should be completely abolished. For the convenience of the people, whatever services are currently being provided online under the Citizen Service Portal, should be disposed of promptly. If there is any objection in a case, then the allottee should be informed only once and clearance should be taken by not objecting again and again. He said that camps should be organized for the clearance of works every month for the public works of the department.

Housing and Urban Development Minister reviews the work of all development authorities
The Minister said that transparency and accountability are the top priority in the functioning of the department. Corruption and malpractice will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against any official found guilty. He and the higher officials will personally supervise the work of the lower levels of the department. He said that this department is directly connected with the people, due to which the responsibility increases even more and the work of the Chief Minister to successfully carry out the campaign to get Punjab back on its feet has to be done together.
Earlier, Secretary Housing and Urban Development Rahul Tewari welcomed the Cabinet Minister and gave a brief introduction about the functioning of the department and all the development authorities. Mr. Tewari further said that giving priority to the planned development of cities, Strict action is being taken against unauthorized colonies. The action against the illegal colonies is being done in a result-oriented manner and an immediate report is being given and no recommendation or suggestion will be allowed in this action. The authorities are asked to ensure that no unauthorized colony comes into existence in future and the regulatory wing of the department is being strengthened and streamlined in this regard.
During the meeting, CA GMADA Moonesh Kumar, CA PUDA and Director Town and Country Planning Neeru Katial Gupta, CA BDA and PDA Manisha Rana, CA ADA and JDA Ankurjit Singh, CA GLADA Harpreet Singh shared information about various development authorities through power point presentation.
