Under CM Mann’s “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign, Punjab Police arrested 87 smugglers and seized narcotics during 325 coordinated raids across the state.

In keeping with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign to eradicate the drug problem from the state for the 268th day in a row, Punjab Police conducted raids at 325 locations on Monday, resulting in the arrest of 87 drug smugglers after 67 first information reports (FIRs) were registered throughout the state. This means that in 268 days, 37,875 drug smugglers have been apprehended overall.

304 grams of heroin, 1 kg of opium, 484 intoxicant pills, and Rs 2910 in drug money were found in the custody of apprehended drug smugglers as a result of the operations.

In the state, 325 raids have been carried out by more than 100 police teams, which consist of more than 900 police officers, overseen by 68 gazetted officers. Up to 335 suspected individuals have also been inspected by police teams throughout the course of the daylong investigation.

The Punjab Police, as part of their “De-addiction” campaign, persuaded thirty people to receive de-addiction and rehabilitation therapy today. The state government has implemented a three-pronged strategy—Enforcement, Drug Abuse, and Prevention (EDP)—to eradicate narcotics from the state.
