At Sri Anandpur Sahib, the Punjab government held a grand divan marking the 350th martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and fellow martyrs, featuring kirtan, katha, and heartfelt tributes.
To mark the 350th anniversary of the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji, the Punjab government organized a series of events. Today, the main pandal of Baba Budha Dal Cantonment in Sri Anandpur Sahib hosted an evening divan. A significant number of followers attended the deeply regarded spiritual gathering and paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the esteemed Guru and his colleagues.
Prominent ragi and katha-vachak jathas were gathered by the Katha and Kirtan Darbar in the august presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, who encouraged the assembly with spiritual talks and Gurbani renditions. Giani Harjit Singh Harman Shahabad (Markanda), Bhai Gursevak Singh Rangila (Chandigarh), Bhai Mehtab Singh (Jalandhar), Baba Harjit Singh (Mehta Chowk), Bhai Gagandeep Singh (Srinagar), Bhai Davinder Singh Sodhi (Ludhiana), Bhai Balwinder Singh Rangila (Chandigarh), Bhai Ravinder Singh (Hazoori Ragi, Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar), and Padma Shri Bhai Sahib Bhai Harjinder Singh (Srinagar) were among the noteworthy attendees. They linked the sangat to the spiritual core of the Guru’s teachings and the legacy of sacrifice through their heartfelt kirtan and illuminating katha.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and his fellow martyrs’ unflinching bravery, devotion, and ultimate sacrifice for the defense of humanity and religious freedom were highlighted by the ragi jathas as they recounted historically significant events from their lives during the divan. There was an intensely devout mood as the whole pandal reverberated with the beautiful strains of Gurbani. The assembly expressed their sincere reverence and considered the Guru’s teachings on kindness, fortitude, and morality.
Giani Bhagwan Singh Johal and Bhai Pritam Singh coordinated the stage, led the proceedings, and highlighted the immemorable significance of the Guru’s teachings and martyrdom in Sikh history.
Additionally, the sangat was told that the Punjab government would be holding more memorial events in the days ahead. The same pandal will offer special activities honoring the life and teachings of the Guru tomorrow, November 24, as part of this continuous schedule. Poetic recitations, dhadi vaar performances, kavishri darbar, and another katha-kirtan darbar will all be featured, and well-known artists and jathas will lead spiritually uplifting sessions.
The assembly held at the Baba Budha Dal Cantonment today was a significant spiritual and cultural occasion that united the sangat in devotion and recollection, in addition to being a heartfelt homage to the Sikh martyrs.
