YouTube Impact Summit 2025 highlights AI tools, education programs, and partnerships with AIIMS and IICT to empower India’s digital creators and learners.
This year’s YouTube Impact Summit delivered a clear message: the platform is stepping up its efforts to support India’s digital producers, educators, and medical professionals. Along with a sizable lineup of AI features and institutional partnerships, YouTube unveiled new economic impact results during the event. YouTube’s creative ecosystem sustained over 930,000 full-time equivalent employment and contributed over ₹16,000 crores to India’s GDP last year, according to recent study from Oxford Economics, highlighting the platform’s increasing significance to the nation’s digital economy.
A Vigorous Drive for Digital Skills and Creator Development
YouTube India’s Managing Director, Gunjan Soni, emphasized the platform’s wider duty. Our influence extends beyond opinions to include shared economic prosperity and livelihoods. This is demonstrated by the fact that 63% of our monetizing producers concur that YouTube is their main source of income. It is our responsibility to set up the necessary framework for that achievement. For this reason, we are establishing strategic alliances that enhance competencies and introducing novel artificial intelligence tools that enable the upcoming generation of entrepreneurs, all while maintaining our basic commitment to accountability.
YouTube announced new collaborations with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) to further this goal. The goals of both partnerships are to improve educational opportunities and provide millions of Indian users with top-notch material.
Developing the Creative Workforce in India
YouTube described new programs designed to prepare students for professions in animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and extended reality. This is because 98% of Indian users rely on the platform for information and expertise. Students will have access to webinars, professional workshops, and guest lectures thanks to the collaboration with IICT. Google will sponsor the institute’s new Create with AI program, which encourages artists and students to use AI to develop creative projects. In order to disseminate material and industry insights, IICT will also use YouTube to launch and expand its official channel.
“India’s creative industry is at a pivotal moment, and AI is set to redefine storytelling,” stated Vishwas Deoskar, CEO of IICT. By providing our students with direct access to the tools and knowledge they need to spearhead the next wave of Indian animation, cinema, and gaming, this collaboration with YouTube is crucial to bridging the gap between the classroom and the international arena.

Using AIIMS to Scale Healthcare Training
YouTube is working with the AIIMS College of Nursing to increase access to accredited medical training. Nursing students and practicing nurses nationwide will now have access to expert-designed courses on subjects including wound care and hospital infection prevention.
Digital learning is a potent instrument for expanding access to high-quality education, according to Dr. Latha Venkatesan, principal of the College of Nursing. Through this collaboration with YouTube, we are able to extend the reach of AIIMS’ reputable curriculum beyond our campus boundaries and equip nurses nationwide with the knowledge and abilities necessary to provide exceptional patient care.
Innovative AI Features for Safer and Smarter Learning
Additionally, YouTube unveiled its new conversational AI feature, which enables users to ask questions and get prompt responses right within the video player. It first opens in English, with support for Hindi on the horizon.
As YouTube’s health material reached 300 billion views in India, the platform added more ailments to its First Aid shelf in Hindi and English. Additionally, new features that promote digital well-being are being introduced, such as daily scrolling limitations on Shorts and automatic “take a break” notifications for users younger than 18.
AI Tools for Creators’ Protection and Empowerment
The YouTube Create app’s Edit with AI tool, which instantly converts unprocessed video into an editable draft, will also be available to Indian creators. Additionally, YouTube is making its likeness recognition technology available to Partner Program producers in open beta. This system enables them to identify and seek the removal of films that are edited by AI without authorization and that misuse their face identity.
“India is not just a market; it’s a source of global innovation and culture,” Gunjan Soni continued. The level of inventiveness displayed here is astounding. We’re investing in the creativity of the Indian people, not just a platform, by introducing our finest AI technology and collaborating with amazing organizations like IICT and AIIMS. We are honored to be involved in the development of the internet’s future, which is taking place right here.
YouTube’s broad involvement in bolstering India’s digital landscape is reflected in the announcements made during the Impact Summit, ranging from public health and online safety to creator income and education.
