Jasprit Bumrah can enter India’s Top 10 Test wicket-takers if he takes five wickets in the second Test against South Africa in Guwahati

The Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati will host the second and last match of the two-match Test series between South Africa and India from November 22 to 26. As the Indian pace ace approaches a significant milestone, all eyes will be on Jasprit Bumrah.

He will rank among India’s top 10 highest wicket-takers in Test cricket history if he takes five wickets in this match. Right now, Bumrah is ranked eleventh on the list.
Javagal Srinath will be surpassed by Bumrah.

With a similar performance in Guwahati, Bumrah might surpass former India fast bowler Javagal Srinath in the Test wicket statistics. Bumrah had a respectable effort with the ball in the Kolkata Test.

Between 1991 and 2002, Srinath played for India, taking 236 wickets at an average of 30.49 from 121 innings in 67 Test matches.

Bumrah has taken 232 wickets at an impressive average of 19.54 in 97 innings over 51 Test matches since making his debut in 2018. He would surpass Srinath’s total if he took five wickets in the next game against South Africa.

In 51 Test matches thus far, India’s top fast bowler has claimed 232 wickets at an average of 19.54.

In an innings, Bumrah has claimed five wickets sixteen times and four wickets seven times. His outstanding 6 for 27 is his greatest score in a Test innings.

It has been reported that the Guwahati surface may offer bounce and turn at pace. Should this prove to be the case, a player of his caliber might easily secure these five wickets.
