ECI ensures tight security for Tarn Taran by-election with 12 CAPF companies, CCTV webcasting, and micro observers across 222 polling stations.

Given the delicate nature of the Tarn Taran Border district, where the Tarn Taran Assembly Constituency Bye-poll is scheduled for 11.11.25, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has implemented robust security measures using District Election machinery and has collaborated with its observers to finalize the deployment strategy.

One of the greatest CAPF deployments ever made by ECI in a bye election was the deployment of 12 Companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) in the Assembly Constituency, according to Chief Electoral Officer Sibin C.

According to the deployment strategy, the CEO added, CAPF would cover all 114 polling station locations, or 222 polling stations. Every polling location, aside from CAPF, will have CCTV cameras with webcasting, which will be attentively watched at the level of the returning officer, DEO, and CEO under the general direction and oversight of ECI. He also mentioned that 46 Micro observers will be present at all of the important polling station sites.

Along with confirming that all 222 polling stations have the minimum amenities promised, CEO Punjab also promised that the election apparatuswould take harsh action against any infraction of law and order. Additionally, he encouraged every voter in AC Tarn Taran to cast their ballots at the polling, which is scheduled for November 11 from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
