Punjab SC Commission grants Amrinder Singh Raja Warring time till November 17, seeks SSP Kapurthala report on complaint verification.

Advocate Arshpreet Singh Khadial appeared before the Punjab SC Commission on behalf of Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, who had been called by the Commission, in response to the comments made about former Union Home Minister S. Buta Singh. Nevertheless, during the hearings, the advocate was unable to present the power of attorney (vakalatnama).

Citing the impending bye-election, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, through his attorney, has requested a postponement of his personal appearance before the Commission until after the elections are over.

Additionally, Tarn Taran, the District Election Officer-turned-Deputy Commissioner, has requested permission to skip today’s appearance before the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission.

Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman S. Jasvir Singh Garhi provided the information, stating that the District Election Officer formally notified the Commission that Raja Warring had received a letter asking for clarification on the matter, which the police are now verifying.

He stated that because to the impending bye-election in the Assembly constituency, District Election Officer Tarn Taran had asked to be excused from the appearance on November 6. He noted that the Commission had granted time until November 17, 2025, in response to the request.

S. Jasvir Singh Garhi added that Kapurthala Police has filed a formal complaint against Raja Warring in accordance with media reports. The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has taken note of this and requested a copy of the SSP Kapurthala’s report on the actions taken thus far, which must be turned in by November 10, 2025.
