SGPC-led Sikh Pilgrims leave Amritsar for Pakistan to celebrate Guru Nanak Dev ‘s Prakash Parv, visiting Nankana Sahib and historic Gurdwaras.

Amritsar On Tuesday, a group of committed Sikh pilgrims left Amritsar for Pakistan under the auspices of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) to take part in the holy rituals of Guru Nanak Dev ‘s Prakash Parv. The party will go visit Nankana Sahib, where Guru Nanak was born, and other ancient Gurdwaras in Pakistan to take part in religious activities.

On this trip, Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj of Akal Takht Sahib joined the party and prayed for their safe and spiritually gratifying travel.

Jathedar Gadgaj told the reporters before they left that the government had given visas to the devotees, but the Kartarpur Sahib Langar was still not fully open. He said that the Kartarpur corridor is not just a way for pilgrims to get to their destination; it is also “a bridge that connects hearts.”

He also said that he thought the government will soon meet the long-standing request to fully reopen the corridor.

He went on to say that Guru Nanak spent his last years in Kartarpur Sahib, which is a very important spiritual place for Sikhs.

He said, “It is the natural wish of every Sikh to bow their head at this holy shrine without any problems.”

He also said that in the future, people should be able to enter the pilgrimage using Aadhaar-based identification instead of passports to make it easier for more people to go.

Jathedar Gadgaj gave a spiritual message on the day of Guru Nanak’s Prakash Parv. He told the Sangat to remember the Guru’s three golden rules: Kirat Karo (act honestly), Naam Japo (meditate on God’s name), and Vand Chhako (sharing with others).

He remarked, “These teachings are the basis of Guru’s Langar, which still inspires equality, service, and unity in society.”

He also asked for world peace, harmony, and the quick release of Sikh prisoners. He sent heartfelt wishes to the Sangat and advised them to follow the Guru’s teachings. He said, “Those who walk on the path of truth and righteousness are the true heirs of Guru Nanak’s legacy.”
