Vice President CP Radhakrishnan lauded Kashi’s transformation under PM Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath during his visit to Varanasi’s new Satram.

Varanasi:  Indian Vice President CP Radhakrishnan praised Kashi’s incredible change over the previous 20 years and gave gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the change.

“The Kashi I saw 25 years ago is completely different from the Kashi of today,” Radhakrishnan stated, speaking to the crowd following the opening of the new Satram building in Sigra, Varanasi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are two outstanding leaders who have enabled this change.

The Vice President’s first visit to Kashi was welcomed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who was also in attendance at the occasion.

“From the Ganga in Kashi to the Kaveri in Tamil Nadu, we are united, irrespective of language difference,” remarked the chief minister.

“This new initiative will provide space and support for pilgrims visiting from Tamil Nadu and will further strengthen our cultural and spiritual ties,” he stated.

Vice President Radhakrishnan and Chief Minister Yogi went to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple after the inauguration to worship.

The Vice-President of India served as the Chief Guest at the opening of the new Sri Kasi Nattukkottai Nagara Satram edifice in Sigra, Varanasi, earlier today. According to an official statement from the Vice President’s Secretariat, Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, also attended the ceremony and greeted the Vice-President upon his arrival at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport.

The Sri Kasi Nattukkottai Nagara Satram Managing Society spent Rs 60 crore to develop the new Satram, a 10-story structure with 140 rooms. In order to accommodate visiting devotees and inspire the next generation to engage with the sacred city, the Society has established its second Satram in Varanasi. By enhancing the long-standing cultural ties between Tamil Nadu and Kashi, the initiative exemplifies the concept of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

The occasion also brought attention to the ancient custom of pilgrimage between Kashi and South India, which dates back to 1863, when the Nattukkottai Trust established the first Satram.
