Punjab Vigilance Bureau observes Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, promoting integrity, anti-corruption, and ethical governance through outreach and awareness drives.

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) will aggressively observe the state’s annual Vigilance Awareness Week from October 27 to November 2, 2025, in accordance with the Central Vigilance Commission’s nationwide program. During a function at VB headquarters in Mohali, all VB employees made a solemn promise to take a united stand against corruption in order to mark the week with integrity and transparency. In the presence of Parveen Kumar Sinha, Special DGP-cum-Chief Director, Tushar Gupta and Deyama Harish Kumar Omprakash, both Joint Directors, and Harpreet Singh, AIG, Economic Offenses Wing, Prabhjot Kaur, JD Complaint cell and IVC, administered the integrity pledge to the VB officers and officials.

The main goal of this week-long campaign, according to an official spokeswoman, is to educate and empower individuals about their critical role in supporting the Bureau’s coordinated and multifaceted efforts to eradicate corruption from public offices.

The resonant subject of the observance would be “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility,” emphasizing the need for a shared commitment to strengthen ethical governance.

He explained that all Senior Superintendents of Police in the VB Ranges have been instructed to plan outreach activities in each district, whether urban and rural, in order to guarantee broad participation.

“Increasing the reach of the Chief Minister’s Anti-Corruption Action Line (ACAL) via WhatsApp at 9501200200 will be a major focus,” he continued. The Punjab government introduced this specific platform in March 2022, allowing residents to privately file accusations against corruption using audio-video messaging.

The spokesperson went on to say that all VB officers and officials made a solemn Integrity promise across all district headquarters as a show of their resolve.

He added that banners would be prominently placed at significant public locations to raise public awareness of the anti-corruption campaign as part of the overall public awareness campaign. These banners would list the selected vigilance officers’ contact information, giving the public a direct line of communication for complaints and enhancing the anti-corruption campaign’s transparency.

In order to support these initiatives, he continued, VB Range Officers would organize lectures and workshops in academic institutions and other notable public settings, bringing well-known individuals to promote discussions on ethics and integrity. Additionally, they have been directed to collaborate with different departmental offices in their districts in order to spread the word about being watchful and honest.
