CBI raids DIG Harcharan Bhullar’s Ludhiana farmhouse; caretaker flees, CCTV missing, raising concerns over destroyed or removed evidence.

Ludhiana, Punjab: New information is being made every day in the wake of the arrest of suspended Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar in a bribery case. In Mand Sherian village, Ludhiana, Bhullar hired a Punjab Police sub-inspector (SI) to look after his farmhouse. In addition, this sub-inspector was in charge of maintaining the 55 acres of property that Bhullar owned next to the farmhouse.

This sub-inspector packed his things and left his farmhouse on October 16th, the day the CBI conducted its initial search on Bhullar’s home in Chandigarh. Locals said that when he departed, he also packed a few possessions into a tiny truck. This sub-inspector disappeared. Nobody is certain.

Nothing was discovered when the CBI team searched the farmhouse on October 24th. Additionally absent were the CCTV cameras and their DVRs. Evidence may have been destroyed, according to the CBI team’s suspicions.

It had been a year since he moved there. He said he was appointed as a caretaker by the DIG.

Oversaw Bhullar’s Farming Operations: According to the villagers, he used to complete all of the farming tasks on Inspector Bhullar’s 55 acres of property. From planting the crops to selling them, he was in charge of everything. He used to refer to himself as Bhullar’s close buddy and claim that the DIG had given him the order to stay on the property.

Oversaw 20 Shops on Machhiwara-Ropar Road: The villagers claim that Bhullar was the owner of about 20 stores in the Machhiwara-Ropar Road market. The CBI has access to these documents. It was also disclosed that Bhullar had given Dilbag, his caretaker, the duty of collecting rent.

Absence of Evidence Following CBI Raids

Bhullar is charged with abusing his position as DIG by installing two transformers for personal use. To guarantee a steady supply of electricity to the rural area, he placed two transformers outside his farmhouse. Despite the fact that rural areas usually only receive eight hours of electricity per day, both transformers were linked to different feeders to prevent simultaneous power outages.

When the CBI first raided Bhullar’s home in Sector 40, Chandigarh, on October 16th, they discovered ₹7.5 crore in cash, 2.5 kg of gold, 26 expensive watches, guns, and documentation for more than 50 properties. The caretaker fled after the operation. Villagers said that after hearing the news, Dilbag gathered his things and left the farmhouse. After packing the things into a tiny truck, he drove off.

The CBI raided Bhullar’s farmhouse in Mand Sherian, Machhiwara, on October 24th, but they found no one there. There were a number of missing objects from the property, which led to concerns that the evidence may have been taken or removed.

According to reports, CBI agents went to the area that day and asked about the farmhouse’s past residents, discovering that a caretaker had indeed been in charge of it.
