Google is investing $15 billion (₹87,520 crore) in Andhra Pradesh to build its largest AI hub and a 1-gigawatt data center in Visakhapatnam, boosting India’s AI and cloud computing capabilities.

It appears that India is securing a lucrative investment from Google, as the company is establishing a Mega AI center in the country. Google has recently disclosed that it will allocate $15 billion (approximately ₹87,520 crore) to Andhra Pradesh, India. It is anticipated that a new Gigawatt data center and AI base will be constructed in Vishakhapatnam. This is Google’s most significant investment in India and is anticipated to enhance cloud computing and AI capabilities.

Google has disclosed its intention to establish a 1-gigawatt data center and Artificial Intelligence base in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, India. The initiative will be operational in the port city of Vishakhapatnam, according to Reuters’ reports. According to Reuters, this is Google’s largest investment in India to date and is anticipated to enhance the AI cloud ecosystem in the country.

A mega AI center is being established by Airtel and Google.

Google made one of its most significant moves by collaborating with the premier telecommunications company in India to establish the facility. Therefore, in order to establish this facility, Google has collaborated with Airtel to bring it to fruition.

In addition, Google’s new sub-sea international cables will be housed at the state-of-the-art Cable Landing Station, which will facilitate the connection of its extensive global terrestrial and sub-sea infrastructure. This initiative will also involve the establishment of a stable and robust intra-city and inter-city fiber network by Airtel.

This will provide Google users and customers with quicker experiences while maintaining a high capacity and low latency. It is designed to enhance the digital potential of India.

The Reuters report also stated that a formal memorandum of understanding is to be signed in New Delhi, with senior dignitaries, including the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

The project is being hailed as a transformative initiative that will establish India as a global tech center and Vishakhapatnam in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
