West Indies’ Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves put together a strong 10th-wicket partnership against India on Day 4 of the second Test at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.

New Delhi : The West Indies have executed one of the most resilient performance of the year. During the second Test of the ongoing two-game series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, the Windies conceded 518 runs in the first innings, followed it up by scoring 248, and amassed 390 runs in the follow-on. They set a target of 121 runs for India to pursue.

John Campbell and Shai Hope both scored centuries during the visitors’ impressive performance with the bat. The partnership between Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves, however, was the one that garnered the most attention. A stand of 79 runs was established by Seales and Greaves while playing for the 10th wicket.

In the process, the two batters established the fifth-highest 10th-wicket partnership in the annals of the West Indies in Test cricket. The Windies held the record for the highest 10th-wicket partnership in Test cricket when Tino Best and Denesh Ramdin combined to score 143 runs against England in Birmingham in 2012.

Early in the run pursuit, India loses Jaiswal.

Openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal emerged to bat as the Indian team prepared to pursue the target. Jaiswal’s departure for only eight runs in the run pursuit, however, presented a significant obstacle for the hosts. Jaiswal aimed to make a significant shot in the early stages of the second innings, but he ultimately hit the ball directly into Phillip’s hands, resulting in Warrican landing his first wicket.

After Jaiswal’s early loss, Sai Sudharsan entered the batting order. Sudharsan, in conjunction with KL Rahul, would endeavor to maintain his composure and carry the game into the fifth day, during which India will endeavor to secure a comprehensive victory and the series.
