In a bid to strengthen law enforcement and ensure women’s safety in Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made an unexpected visit to the Police Headquarters in Dehradun on Wednesday. During the visit, CM Dhami conducted a thorough review of the women’s safety helpline and assessed various police activities, emphasizing the importance of robust law and order in the state.

Chief Minister Dhami took this opportunity to instruct the police officers to reinforce law and order across Uttarakhand. He underscored the necessity of taking strict action against individuals who disrupt public peace and insisted on prompt responses to crimes, particularly those involving women. CM Dhami directed senior police officials to take decisive action on issues such as demographic changes, religious conversions, and cases labeled as ‘love jihad.’ He called for an intensive crackdown on criminal activities and regular monitoring of individuals with known criminal backgrounds. Additionally, he instructed officers to conduct field inspections of police stations and support the necessary enhancements.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of heightened patrolling in border areas and vigilant monitoring of those entering and exiting the state. He also assigned senior women IPS officers the responsibility of preventing crimes against women and ensuring swift justice for victims. CM Dhami urged for better coordination among officers, rapid information sharing, and regular night patrolling in high-risk areas.
